BIOTRACK was born in Costa Rica in 2003 to solve a very specific payroll problem, and in 2011 it passed into the hands of the Solux group, biometrics distributors based in Miami. Since then the brand has taken root from Mexico to Argentina. Two decades later, that field experience is what the software is built on.
An engineering firm was handling a client's accounting, and the client asked them to handle payroll too. To solve it, they brought in the first biometric device and wrote the software that read it: the BIOTRACK Administrator, the desktop version that many companies still use today.
Two biometrics distributors based in Miami, with roots in Venezuela, buy the company. In a market where nobody wanted to pay for software and manufacturers only made hardware, the decision was to deliver the software together with the device. That bet planted the brand from Mexico to Argentina, the Caribbean and the United States.
A fast-food chain laid out its reality for us: university students who work two hours, come back after class, switch positions on the same day and are paid differently depending on where they are. Nothing on the market solved it, so we built the scheduling engine from scratch. That calculation by shift and by position is still the heart of BIOTRACK.
A customer with three thousand employees asked us for the source code so they could add the reports they needed on their own. That was the signal. Instead of handing over the code, we rebuilt the entire platform: web, multi-site, working with the devices the customer already has, and with BioConnect delivering calculated worked hours straight to payroll. Twenty years in the field, written from scratch.
